Indian Classical Dance

Rangapravesam, which means “ascending the stage’ in Sanskrit, is a full-length solo dance performance. It marks the transition of the artiste from a student to a blossoming dancer. Accompanied by a live orchestra, this performance demands that the dancer exhibit an understanding of the many aspects of Bharatanatyam, from sensitive expressions to intricate rhythm, blending grace and vigor

It is an important  milestone in the dancer’s life. Jacqueline Karahtra had her Arangetram on the 13th of July 2019 at Festival Place, Sherwood Park, Alberta and I was given the opportunity to capture the event with my camera. Here are few of the images take on that day

I have a passion to shoot still life and portraits. I took up digital photography few years ago and have come to realize that this hobby, that I chose as a means to escape the drudgery of the day is probably one that brings out the best in me. A tiny sliver of time caught for eternity, and worthy of notice, is what I work towards with every image I take. There is no challenge that is too big for me and no job too small. If you like the images I post here then please feel free to comment. All constructive criticism are welcomed.
